Always have something to do, feel a sense of purpose and direction with organizational mission. Ability to work with great individuals and machinery depending on you specific job.

Inconvenience

Pointless training. Extremely disorganized and don't know what's really going on for the drill date. Drill date can be really inconvenient and fall on a day that's really important for you

Is alright

You can still get deployed. You go to basic training, then your job training. After that you go too a unit in the state you signed up at. You can get deployed or volunteer to deploy.

Pros

Paid training, bonuses (ask recruiters) must be in the contact you sign

Cons

Can be some annoying micromanaging garbage depending on NG unit

Go full-time

Unless you are in college or blandly have no goals. I recommend going active army. You will deploy to other countries and you must available, if your unit gets activated. I also recommend applying for MOS that align with your dream career or personal interest.

Army national guard

The army national guard is overall a great organization. Provides good life experience in all areas for personal development and being involved in something bigger than yourself.

Fun Place to work

countless memories and experiences, plenty of benefits, great second family and reliable support. They will always look out for their soldiers and help them succeed.

Pros

Benefits and Training

National Guard

I've been in the National guard for over a year and with my unit for about 3/4ths of a year. My unit treated me as if I belonged as soon as I got there and they're more than happy to let newer guys/gals run equipment and get a feel for everything. While the military isn't for everyone, I'm happy with my decision to join and feel as though it has had a positive effect on myself overall.

Great

The Army National Guard is a great career choice for first time job. I joined at 17 and it made me grow up very fast and ready for anything life had to throw at me. It made me a better person. Overall the ARNG is great!

Arng

Great to serve my country. Been in 10 years and plan to retire in there. I've been on one tour and numerous active duty time. Would recommend this for anyone who loves the country, school benefits.

Decent work

Very secure position with a lot of benefits. I have to see the same people on a daily basis when I do go, so it can be stressful some times. Overall, I enjoy working for the army.

Pros

Salary, extra training potential, benefits.

Cons

It's the government so I scratch my head at some of the decisions of high ranked officers.

A place where hard work pays off.

A typical day at work would be morning formation, the mission, and a closing formation. The missions and tasks vary every day, but you've been trained to adapt and overcome any situation.

Pros

Benefits, work enviroment, and pay

Cons

deployments can be hard on marriages or relationships

Excellent Career Choice

My Career with the Army National Guard started 3 years ago. I couldn't be happier with my experiences from transitioning to a soldier, all the way to earning promotions and advancing my career.

Best thing to ever happen to me

The best thing that has ever happened to me and I highly suggest everyone should be apart of something bigger than themselves. No time for selfishness and nothing but good things to say about the Army National Guard.

A strong team environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and a sense of family.

The Army National Guard is a mostly positive environment that creates a good atmosphere of friendship, and bonds with people who you'd never think you would, overall in my experience the National Guard has helped me understand who I am and what I can do. It's also shown me that if need be I'm able to control myself and help others stay level in high stress environments.
